One of the perks of making some of the best chamois cream out there (Enzo is only a little bias) is that it has allowed Enzo’s Cycling Products to help support many of the greats in our wonderful sport. One such relationship that continues to grow is with John Gatch who has dedicated his life to the sport.

This past weekend, John and his Prochain Junior Development Cycling Team (which Enzo’s proudly sponsors) took the trip to Canada to participate in the Tour De l’Abitibi. The UCI sanctioned event is the only American (North or South) race that allows participants, restricted to the ages of 17 and 18, to qualify for the Junior Road World Championships (later this year in Denmark). Be sure to check out the team’s blog to read about their experience.

Gatch’s Gun Club Cross is on October 9th this year in Cincinnati.

When not running a national champion caliber junior team, John “spends his free” time promoting the Ohio Valley Cyclocross series which in its 13th season is as big as it has ever been, hosting 5 UCI events partnering with Industry giant Zipp as its headlining sponsor. Aside from running the entire series, John also finds the time to promote the 6th race of the series, the Gun Club Cyclocross.

Naturally, John rides and races himself. A long-time Cat 1, John has had several successes on the saddle himself. John will look to defend his 2010 Road Race State Championship which he won last August. Simply riding and racing his bike isn’t like John though, why stop there when there is so much more to offer? John completely saturates himself with cycling and he has for many years. He spent time in Europe as a mechanic for the Motorola Professional Cycling Team and spent two years as technical director for the US National Road Championships in the late 90’s. He also played a large role in helping map the courses for the Kent Tour of China in 1995 and 1996. To put it mildly, John knows his way around the sport. In fact, he has turned his knowledge and love of cycling into a popular Podcast.

2 johns podcastThe Two John’s Podcast, which you can find on iTunes or at the Two John’s Blog, covers anything cycling in a fun and informative format. The podcast is consistently one of the most downloaded cycling podcasts on iTunes. If you haven’t listened yet, you’re missing out.

Enzo is proud of its relationship with John and looks forward to watching his continued success as a cyclist, team director, podcaster, and promoter. If the community had even just one more person as dedicated and intelligent towards our sport it would be for the better.
